Which Is Your Selection? Introduction of Different Cosmetic Packaging Materials
Which is your best cosmetic packaging material selection? To attract consumers, more and more efforts are being made by businesses in cosmetic packaging in recent years. With various novel and exquisite packaging emerging endlessly, excellent beauty packaging and container material selections have become the key factors for hot-selling products. Cosmetic packaging not only attracts consumers but also provides an essential storage space and protection function.
The material of cosmetic packaging is closely related to the composition and form of the product chosen.
Common cosmetic packaging materials include plastic, glass bottles, tube, etc. Different materials have different characteristics therefore suitable for different textures and compositions of beauty products:
- Plastic Container:
The plastic materials are various, including ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene), PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), AS (acrylonitrile styrene), acrylic and so on. Among them, PP, PE, PET are environmental protection materials, can directly contact with the contents; PP, PE is translucent, natural white, can be made of a variety of hardness; PET is transparent, lightweight and soft material. - Glass Container:
Glass bottles are mainly used in cosmetics for smaller volume beauty products such as cream, lotion, essence, essential oil. According to the type of bottleneck, glass bottles can be divided into wide-mouthed bottles and narrow-mouthed bottles. Wide-mouth bottles are mostly used for creams, smeared masks and other solid cream cosmetics, while narrow-mouth bottles are generally used for water-based and lotion products.
The glass bottle generally collaborates with the bottle cap, pump head, or dropper to use, to better prevent the beauty product from contamination. The surface of the glass bottle can be frosted, sprayed or screened as requested.
The advantage of a glass bottle is lower cost, while the disadvantage is heavy and easy to break. Perfume kind of product often uses glass bottles to prevent liquid to evaporate better and to well maintain perfume scent.
- Tube
The tube is divided into a single layer, double layers and five layers. According to the material, it can be divided into the plastic tube and metal tube, etc. The most common is the plastic tube, in that case, the packaging is used for ordinary face cleansers with PE plastic.
Tube packaging has good airtightness and can isolate the air while preventing the leakage of the contents. Different layers of the tube have different impermeability. The tube is usually equipped with a rotary cover or flip cover and the tube surface can be processed by silk screen printing and other processes.
